Today in Word Wizards, we discussed being able to use our eyes, ears and teeth for different jobs! Think of the three different tasks which we discussed and share which one you chose with someone at home or school.

Y5/6 Football and Netball teams
We had some great games at Shaftesbury School against three other schools. The footballers won two and lost one whilst the netballers won one, drew one and lost one. Good start to the season but better to come in the near future!

Map Work!
We're looking at Maps and exploring OS symbols in year 6 as part of our Topic work - ask your children which ones they can remember. Why do we use symbols? What's special about the symbols used?

The Missing Chapter
We read a chapter from Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory which didn't make it into the publish book. Year 6 have been designing their own rooms that didn't feature in the story. They are absolutely fabulous (and a bit bonkers!). We can't wait to hear their written chapters!

Let's get arty!
Check out some of the work from our art afternoon. These will look fab when they're finished. Look out for our finished work over the next week or so...
Solving problems using clues.
Year 6 have been creating some sums, cutting them up and giving them to other groups to solve using the clues they were given. Year 6 needed to show resilience as these were tricky but they didn't give up and worked hard as a great team of detectives!
Ask your child more about their maths morning.
Maths Detectives
We are now Maths Detectives in year 6. Use these steps when you want to support your little detective with their maths work at home.
