Up periscope!
In science we linked our learning about Britain at war with a study on how light reflects off of mirrors. We created our very own periscopes to see over the trenches.

WW2 Home Learning...WOW!
We have been absolutely thrilled by the work that has come in as part of year 6's home learning for our Britain at War topic.
It is inspiring to see the children putting so much time, thought and effort into their work resulting in these truly amazing creations.
We also wanted to say a huge thank you for the support at home - it truly does make a difference.
Please swing by year 6 sometime to look more closely at their projects.
Over and out.

Watch out....air raids have been reported in Apple Class
When the sirens sound, we take cover under the tables until the all clear has sounded. What better way to learn about The Blitz?

Exploring Nets
Year six were given a sheet containing drawings of nets and had to predict which ones would fold up to create cubes. Then, using Polydron, the children tested their predictions. We then began thinking about which net would be most useful for us in designing our Gas Mask boxes as part of our 'Britain at War' topic.
WW1 Maths: Seating soldiers.
Year six have been working on this maths investigation as part of our WW1 topic. As their teacher I was inspired by their approach to exploring this and the resilience they demonstrated. How would you go about solving this?
