Parents - We need your help.....Y6 Homework over half term

Hello Parents and carers....We need your help!

Miss Mullet and I want a real focus on x-tables after half term so instead of setting sheets to be completed we want a real focus on your child to learn their tables over half term - try and be creative - chant the times tables over breakfast, learn them in the car, give them little tests with a small treat as an incentive etc.
The expectation for the end of Year 6 includes the 11 and 12 times table. If you are happy your child is 100% confident with their tables, extend them by learning their tables up to 20 x 20 by mentally partitioning the numbers in their heads e.g 6x17 is equal to 6x10 and 6x7.

Reading - The expectation is to have 6 signatures in your child's reading diary over the 10 day break (Fri 23rd - Mon Nov 2nd). Please remember to talk about the text and ask questions on it as opposed to just listening to them read - comprehension is so important.

Thanks a lot,have a happy half-term,

Mr Preston and Miss Mullett
